Mentions and tags
Type @ to link a person, # to tag, ^ to link a project.
In a note, type @, # or ^ after a space or at the start of a line. A menu opens; keep typing to narrow it, then press ↵.

| Type | Links | Where it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| @ | A person | The person's Notes tab |
| # | A tag | Notes, showing every note with the tag |
| ^ | A project | The project's Notes tab |
Mention a person
- Type @ and the start of any part of their name:
@mafinds Maya Okafor and Zoe Martin. - Press ↵ or Tab, or choose them.
The mention links to the person, and the note appears on their Notes tab. Rename someone and every mention follows. To mention someone new, add them in People first. See People.
Tag a note
- Type # and a tag, such as
#recipes. - Press ↵ to choose a tag you've used before, or Create tag “recipes” to start a new one.
Tags have no spaces, so use a hyphen: #work-trip. Case doesn't matter: #Recipes and #recipes are the same tag.
Choose a tag in a note to see every note with it. A note's tags are also listed in its details.
# and a space at the start of a line still makes a heading.
Link a project
- Type ^ and the start of the project's name.
- Press ↵.
Active projects come first. The project shows in the note's details, and the note on the project's Notes tab. See Projects.

Rename, merge or delete tags
Open Settings → Tags and choose ⋯ on a tag's row.
- Edit… renames the tag in every note.
- Merge… moves its notes onto another tag (Merge tags), then deletes it.
- Delete… removes the tag. Its notes keep the word as plain text.
Merging and deleting can't be undone.
