Key dates

Give someone a birthday, an anniversary or any yearly date, and Nifty shows it on Today, People and the Calendar as it comes round.

Add a key date

1. Open the person and press D (or the + beside Key dates).
2. Choose a Type: Birthday, Anniversary, Work anniversary, First met, Name day, In memory or Other.
3. Fill in the Date. Leave the year blank if you don't know it.
4. Choose Add date (⌘↵).

Label is optional: it names an Other date ("Sobriety") or adds a detail ("Wedding"). A person has one birthday, but as many other dates as you like.

With a year, Nifty counts for you: "Turns 34", "12 years". Someone born on 29 February has theirs on 1 March in other years.

Change or remove one

Choose the date under Key dates. Change it and choose Save, or choose Remove date.

• Today: Next 14 days shows what's coming. See Today.
• People: a face shows its date for two weeks before, and Coming up lists six weeks ahead. See People.
